The founding principles of Prairie View, Inc. were rooted deeply in faith.
Our solid foundation in faith and our relationships with the faith community ensure a bright future for those we serve.
Pastoral care, an onsite Chaplain, the Prairie View Labyrinth, and congregational support programs are just a few opportunities we have to return support to our faith community.
Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light - Helen Keller
Karen Andres | Chaplain
Karen K. Andres is an ordained pastor with Mennonite Church USA and received training at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. She received a BA in music performance (organ) at Bethel College. After being an associate pastor at Tabor Mennonite Church (rural Newton) for ten years, Karen’s interest in mental health brought her to Prairie View where she serves as chaplain. She feels that her previous experiences as hospice chaplain, clinical pastoral education, and pastoral care responsibilities as a pastor have helped prepare her for service at Prairie View. Karen enjoys meeting with people, leading non-denominational spirituality groups, and planning worship.
Karen enjoys reading, playing piano, playing with pets, and quilling (not quilting). She lives on a farm with her husband and has one son and daughter-in-law. Karen says, “Working at Prairie View is a very humbling experience as we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ.”
