Making Play Dough (and Memories)
January 11, 2023
When families spend quality time together, it has a lasting positive impact on children's social and emotional development. Try this fun, hands-on activity with the kids - then watch their imaginations take flight as they play. (You can play, too; you're never too old for play dough!)
Ingredients:
2 C. flour
1 C. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. oil
2 C. water
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil. Slowly add the water. It will get hard to stir! Once combined, turn the dough out onto a clean counter and knead. Please note: The dough will be very hot! Please use caution when working with the mixture.
At this point, you could choose to add food coloring and even essential oils or vanilla extract to the dough if you'd like, but those are completely optional!
