Minja, Parker Join Prairie View Team

NEWTON, Kan. (November 20, 2017) – Prairie View Inc., welcomes Anthony Minja, PMHNP-BC, and Derek Parker, PsyD, LMAC, T-LP, to its clinical staff.
Minja, a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified, will serve as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to adolescents and adults ages 18 to 65 years and older at Prairie View’s Newton office, located at 1901 E. First Street.
“I would like to change society’s stigma on mental illness,” says Minja, “and in the process, help as many people as I can in the treatment of mental illness.”
Minja’s treatment specialties include providing care and treatment to patients and individuals with mental illness.
He earned his undergraduate degree and master’s degree from Wichita State University.
Parker, a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Licensed Masters Addiction Counselor and Temporary Licensed Psychologist will provide neuropsychological testing, individual and group therapy to outpatient clients as well as individual and group therapy in addiction treatment to adults ages 18 and older at Prairie View’s Newton office.
“I love working with various ethnicities and those that have neuropsychological issues,” says Parker. “I am passionate about the welfare and mental health of our geriatric population.”
Parker specializes in treatment for addiction, trauma, marriage and family therapy. He will also provide neuropsychological testing, psychological testing, substance abuse treatment, and competency to stand trial evaluations, cognitive behavior therapy and dementia evaluations.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies from Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, Tenn.; a doctorate in theology from American University, Washington, DC; a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Capella University, St. Paul, Minn.; and a Master of Arts degree and doctorate of clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Alameda, Calif. He is a certified pastoral counselor and certified holistic health counselor.
