Salsbery Joins Prairie View Clinical Staff

NEWTON, Kan. (August 8, 2019) – Prairie View has hired Karen M. Salsbery, CSJ, MDiv, LMSW, to provide outpatient therapy to adults and older adults ages 18 to 65 at its Newton office, located at 1901 E. First St. Salsbery will also serve clients three days a week at The Resiliency Center by Safehope, located at 215 S. Pine St., Suite 103, Newton.

A licensed master social worker, Salsbery has experience working with survivors of trauma, including PTSD, those with anxiety and depressive symptoms, those dealing with abuse, neglect and relational issues, and individuals with spiritual and religious needs.

“Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by people who showed compassion and who welcomed all to their tables,” says Salsbery, a Catholic Sister of the Congregation of St. Joseph. “My yes to a vocation in Religious Life has provided a way to live out that call of unity and welcome, as well as opportunities for on-going growth. As an LMSW, it is this same opportunity to engage life and growth that I wish for every person.”

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Wichita State University, a Master of Divinity from Catholic Theological Union and a Masters of Social Work from Newman University.
