What Level of Treatment is Right for You?
Just as no person responds the same to life’s struggles, the same level of care is not appropriate for every issue. Prairie View offers a variety of options to help you find the level of care you are looking for. Inpatient psychiatric care, partial hospitalization (or day hospital), and intensive outpatient treatment are options available at Prairie View.
Prairie View provides individualized care to adults and older adults through our psychiatric hospital located on the Newton campus. Our facilities offer a relaxing environment where you can focus on healing. Our facilities are professionally staffed 24/7 and include access to many of the therapy tools found on our 80 acre campus.
At Prairie View, you will work with a team to develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. And because we value your role as part of a family system, we welcome the involvement of family and caregivers in the journey to healing.
Prairie View’s Partial Hospital provides short-term care. It is an excellent tool to avoid more expensive inpatient psychiatric treatment or to offer more time to understand your diagnosis and learn coping skills when discharging from an inpatient stay. We want you to be ready to jump back into your day to day life and we will help you build the tools to be successful.
Partial Hospital is a day program where patients participate in a variety of structured therapies. You will learn about your diagnosis, learn how to manage your medications, and practice skills that build confidence in your ability to handle stressors.
“Partial Hospital allows for an easier transition between full hospitalization and life as usual,” says Pat Reimer, RN. “It is also a smart option for patients who participate in outpatient services but find themselves in a stressful or crisis situation. Because Partial Hospital provides greater structure and support, patients are more likely to remain successful through a crisis without needing full hospitalization.”
