Turning Point is a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility for children between the ages of 10 and 17 years. We help children with behavioral and/or emotional treatment needs. Our team works with your family to develop with a personalized treatment plan tailored to the needs of your child. Our goal is to help your child learn skills to live well within your family and around others.

About Turning Point

Your child will receive the most inclusive approach to holistic treatment found in south central Kansas. Children attend school daily. The Prairie View School meets all standards for education. However, with trained educators, we work with your child’s learning style and help them gain confidence in managing their behavior and being successful in a classroom setting. Your child participates in group, individual, and family therapy designed around their unique needs and led by trained professionals. We have medical staff available 24/7 to manage medication and promote physical health. Children have opportunities daily get physical exercise. All children have opportunities to build coping skills and learn how to manage their unique diagnosis. Each child is assigned to an attractive and comfortable living environment providing both private and group spaces.

  • Build trust, confidence, cooperation, and communication skills on our Adventure Course utilizing both high and low elements.
  • One on one fishing adventures, hikes, and wildlife viewing on our 80 acre campus
  • Alternative group therapies such as art, music, drumming, yoga and much more
  • The Prairie View Labyrinth helps young people learn about meditation and self-regulation
  • If needed, specialized therapies through Sexual Health Services
