Sexual Health Services

Some youth struggle with managing their developing sexuality and the easy accessibility of sexual content on the web. Others engage in sexual boundary violations and need a more extensive program to get them back on track. Our staff can meet with youth to help them determine how to get back on track for a healthy sexual and relational lifestyle.

Stepping Stones is an outpatient treatment program for adolescents, ages 13 to 17, with sexual behavior problems or a history of abusive sexual behaviors.

In Stepping Stones, your child works on individual treatment goals as well as evidence-based, sexuality-specific topics such as personal accountability, controlling sexual behaviors, anger/impulse management, communication, interpersonal relationship skills and relapse prevention. Our staff will work with you to develop a continuing care program, including a relapse prevention plan and the possibility for continued individual or family therapy after successful completion of Stepping Stones.

Your child’s length of treatment is determined by his or her level of risk for engaging in subsequent problematic sexual behavior and the progress toward measurable treatment goals.

Our Sexual Health Services staff complete thorough evaluations of youth ages 10 to 17 prior to starting the treatment process. Children age 12 or younger who have engaged in inappropriate sexual behaviors are treated through individual and family therapy.
