Cornett Joins Prairie View Clinical Staff

NEWTON, Kan. (September 10, 2019) – Dr. Heather Cornett joins the Prairie View clinical staff as a Temporary-Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist. She will provide individual and group psychotherapy to adults ages 18+ and psychological assessments for individuals ages 6+ at Prairie View’s East Wichita office, located at 9333 E. 21st St. North.
Her concentration areas include, but are not limited to, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders, and relational problems, including parenting issues, relationship stress, marriage, separation or divorce, and grief or loss.
“I love working with cases that are difficult and challenging, and I enjoy assisting individuals who are part of underserved groups,” says Cornett. “I especially enjoy working with those with severe and persistent mental illness and conducting psychological assessments.”
She earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Women’s University, her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and French from the University of Kentucky. She also holds a graduate certificate in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
