EMDR Therapy Now Available at Prairie View-Marion County

September 27, 2019

NEWTON, Kan. (September 27, 2019) – Allyson Krehbiel, a licensed specialist clinical social worker at Prairie View’s Marion County office, located in Hillsboro, is now trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She also recently gained licensure as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor.

EMDR is a powerful evidence-based therapy approach that resolves emotional difficulties caused by disturbing, difficult or frightening experiences that have become frozen in time.

“Instead of feeling like the past traumatic event is currently happening like in a flashback,” says Krehbiel, “EMDR helps the brain realize that the event happened in the past.”

EMDR has been reported as effective for post-traumatic stress disorder, stress, panic attacks, grief, disturbing memories, phobias, anxiety, pain disorders, sexual and/or physical abuse and addictions.

While individuals of any age may benefit from EMDR, Krehbiel will work specifically with older adolescents and adults.
