North Newton Community Foundation Impact Fund Awards Prairie View $1,000 Grant

Newton, Kan. (July 11, 2019) – Prairie View is pleased to announce that it has received a $1,000 grant from the North Newton Community Foundation Impact Fund through North Newton Community Foundation affiliate of Central Kansas Community Foundation. The organization will use the funds for providing additional support of Prairie View clinical staff to provide trainings and support to Bethel College student life staff working with college-age youth and, most importantly, working directly with students.
“Mental and behavioral health issues affect 1 in 5 people,” says Eric Schrag, director of advancement at Prairie View, “and students, in some ways, are more at risk given their transitional stage of life. Early interventions and support positively benefit the individual and, as a result, the larger community.”
Prairie View will first collaborate with the Bethel College Student Life office to identify the greatest areas of need, then determine the areas or means of support that would be most beneficial to the college.

The North Newton Community Foundation (NNCF) supports efforts that enhance community well-being through expansion of education opportunities, cultural enrichment, and improvement of human health and the physical environment.
