Prairie View Offering Telehealth Services in Response to COVID-19 Concerns

April 8, 2020

NEWTON, Kan. (March 23, 2020) – As a provider of essential healthcare services, Prairie View continues to meet the behavioral health needs of its patients and the communities it serves.

Inpatient hospital services for adults, residential services for adolescents and same day access and crisis services are available. Prairie View’s behavioral health crisis hotline, 800-362-0180, is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and allows individuals to immediately access services and talk with a clinician on the phone.

All outpatient visits in all Prairie View offices are being transitioned to telehealth services.

Currently, Prairie View is screening all patients seeking services according to CDC recommendations, asking about: a current fever or one in the past 24 hours; cough or shortness of breath; and questions related to recent travel and recent contact with someone who has had confirmed or suspected contact with someone with COVID-19.

Visitors to inpatient/residential areas are being restricted.

To minimize potential exposure and to protect the health and safety of its patients, staff and community, Prairie View is also following all CDC and KDHE guidelines.
