NEWTON, Kan. (November 22, 2021) – Firsthand experiences with psychological issues are what ultimately led Hannah Turner, T-LMLP, to pursue mental health advocacy and a career in mental healthcare.

“I wish to advocate and treat underserved, underprivileged and marginalized communities who have limited access to mental health resources,” says Turner, who recently began seeing clients at Prairie View’s East Wichita office, located at 9333 E. 21st Street North. She currently works with individuals ages 6 through older adults 65 years of age and older.

Turner provides individual and family therapy for adolescents, teens and adults, treatment planning and evaluations, and diagnosis.

Trauma is of great interest to Turner.

“I have been drawn to healing deeper wounds that often happen in childhood, and finding and healing ‘root causes’ as opposed to only symptom management,” says Turner. “I’ve found that somatic and ‘body-mind’ focused therapies have been the most successful in treating core issues.”

She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Emporia State University.
